Kenya strengthens investigative capacity through DCI partnerships
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya is expanding its investigative capabilities through new training initiatives and international cooperation agreements.
In collaboration with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the DCI recently conducted a five-day investigative interviewing course at the National Criminal Investigations Academy. The training focused on the PEACE model of interviewing, legal frameworks, and techniques for handling revenue-related crimes to improve evidence gathering and prosecution success.
Additionally, the DCI has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This bilateral agreement aims to combat transnational drug trafficking through enhanced intelligence sharing, joint investigations, and financial probing to disrupt organized criminal networks.
