Kenya Tourism Board launches domestic sales conversion campaign
The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has launched the ‘Tembea Kenya – Hapa Ni Wapi Sales Conversion Campaign’ to transform domestic travel interest into confirmed bookings. Moving beyond simple destination marketing, the initiative aims to provide affordable, clearly priced, and readily bookable holiday packages through partnerships with the travel trade.
KTB Chief Executive Officer June Chepkemei stated that the campaign seeks to build direct pathways from interest to booking, working with tour operators to deliver measurable growth in bed nights. The board has set a target of 5.6 million bed nights by 2027, focusing on promoting year-round travel to diversify visitation across different seasons.
The campaign will initially focus on the Northern Kenya circuit, specifically the Chalbi Desert, before expanding to Mambrui, Malindi, and Western Kenya. The first phase involves over fifty tour operators from the Tour Operators Society of Kenya and the Kenya Association of Tour Operators, supported by county governments and accommodation facilities.
