Kenyalang Food Centre water pressure improves after repairs
Water pressure at the Kenyalang Food Centre in Kuching has improved following reconnection and upgrading works performed by Sarawak Water. The intervention addresses previous complaints from hawkers and traders who reported inadequate water supply, particularly during evening hours after 5pm.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng noted that earlier attempts to resolve the issue were unsuccessful because the incoming water supply was insufficient. To provide an immediate solution, MBKS and Sarawak Water agreed to reconnect the food centre through an existing connection located nearby.
The technical work required a temporary water interruption between 10am and 3pm to allow for the installation of new connection points. During this period, Sarawak Water provided water support to affected food and beverage operators. Following the completion of the works, local traders reported that the water pressure had improved.
