Kenyan athletes win elite races at 2026 KGL Millennium Marathon

Kenyan athletes Alex Korio and Lucy Ndambuki won the men’s and women’s elite 21km races at the 2026 KGL Foundation Millennium Marathon held at Independence Square in Accra. Ndambuki set a new course record during the event, which saw thousands of participants from Ghana and abroad.

The marathon was held in conjunction with the KGL Foundation’s Mental Health Index (MHI), a digital initiative designed to raise awareness of mental health issues in Ghana. This initiative follows the Millennium Marathon’s Corporate Wellness Forum, which utilized a Health & Fitness Index to evaluate organizations on physical and mental wellbeing.

KGL Foundation CEO Elliot Dadey praised the collaborative success of the event. The foundation has a history of social interventions in Ghana, including the construction of the KGL-EVE Wellness Centre, renovations at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, and the provision of medical incubators to health facilities nationwide.
