Kenyan military commanders tour troops in Somalia and domestic regions
Senior Kenyan military leaders have conducted tours to visit personnel deployed both domestically and under international missions. During a visit to Kismayo, Somalia, Maj. Gen. Luka Kutto, General Officer Commanding Eastern Command, met with Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel serving with the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
Maj. Gen. Kutto assessed the operational environment and emphasized the necessity for troops to maintain discipline, professionalism, and operational readiness. The visit coincided with KDF Day commemorations, which were held by AUSSOM personnel at various bases across Somalia.
In Kenya, Chief of the Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri visited troops engaged in Operation Maliza Uhalifu in the Doldol region and trainees at the School of Military Engineering in Isiolo. General Kahariri reaffirmed the KDF’s commitment to military modernization, troop welfare, and maintaining an agile force capable of responding to evolving security threats and dismantling banditry networks.
