Kenyan Opposition Leader Kalonzo Musyoka Denies Meeting with President William Ruto

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka warned members of the United Opposition not to engage with President William Ruto, saying the opposition is united in seeking to remove the president. Musyoka met with Senator Edwin Sifuna at the Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka Command Centre in Karen and stressed that any attempt to meet the head of state would be seen as betrayal.

Senator Enock Wambua later dismissed circulating claims that Musyoka had met Ruto at State House, calling the video a deepfake and confirming Musyoka was instead discussing media matters with senior editors in Nairobi. Wambua said the two leaders have no current talks and that any meeting would only occur after the 2027 general election, while negotiations within the United Opposition on a single presidential candidate continue.
