Kenyan police arrest suspects in Kikuyu robbery; CCTV shows armed raid in Kisumu

Detectives from Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested Kevin Ndereba Kilonzo and Shaban Warui Zainab in Kamangu, Kikuyu after a violent robbery and sexual assault. The suspects had posed as Good Samaritans following a road accident, stole the victims' valuables, forced the disclosure of M-Pesa PINs and drained the accounts, and assaulted the female victim. Police recovered the mobile phones used for the fraud and two pangas believed to have been used in the attack.

Separately, CCTV footage from Kibos, Kisumu captured an early‑morning raid on a home where three armed men broke a gate, used a machete and pistol to threaten the homeowner, and fled with household items. The video has heightened concerns over rising armed robberies in the region.
