Kenyan police probe murders in Machakos and Kiambu counties

Police in Machakos County are investigating the death of an unidentified man, estimated to be about 40 years old, whose body was discovered on June 15 with deep cuts to the head and neck. Investigators say there were no signs of a struggle at the scene, suggesting the victim was likely killed elsewhere before being dumped at Woongani Village. Crime‑scene officers processed the location and the body has been moved to a mortuary pending identification and a post‑mortem examination.

In Kiambu County, 47‑year‑old Elizabeth Wambui was fatally stabbed at her shop in Mwihoko Township on Sunday morning. Police say her husband used a spear‑shaped weapon to strike her chest, causing severe bleeding. She was taken to Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large as investigators search for him and examine the recovered weapon for forensic evidence.
