Kenyan President Ruto Says Hustler Fund Disbursed Ksh90 Billion to 28 Million Borrowers
President William Ruto announced that Kenya's Financial Inclusion Fund, popularly known as the Hustler Fund, has disbursed Ksh90 billion to 28 million borrowers since its launch and is currently lending about Ksh50 million each day through personal loans, bridge loans and group loans.
The programme has attracted 10 million repeat borrowers, with 4.5 million earning A or B credit ratings, and borrowers have collectively saved Ksh7 billion. Ruto also pledged to expand access to larger loans and unveiled a new reward scheme, the Tukuze Hub, in partnership with Strathmore University and the African Management Institute, offering business development and financial‑literacy support to borrowers with strong repayment records. All operations are fully digital.
