Kenya's Kasarani Stadium overhaul and Tanzania road upgrades ahead of AFCON 2027
Major renovation work is under way at Kenya’s Kasarani Stadium, part of the Moi International Sports Centre, to replace the playing surface with a hybrid grass pitch that meets CAF and FIFA standards. The project includes a layered drainage system, extensive earth‑moving, and installing a new turf as the venue prepares to co‑host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
In Tanzania, officials from the Government’s AFCON 2027 Preparatory Committee have emphasized the timely completion of road construction projects around Arusha. The committee, chaired by Dr. Charles Mkombachepa, is monitoring progress to improve transport and logistics for the tournament, with support from the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports.
Both countries are mobilising infrastructure upgrades to ensure readiness for the continental football event scheduled for 2027.
