Chùa Keo Autumn Festival opens in Hưng Yên

The 2026 Autumn Chùa Keo Festival has officially commenced in Hưng Yên province, attracting tens of thousands of residents and tourists. This year marks the first time the event has been organized at a provincial scale, integrating traditional religious ceremonies with modern cultural, artistic, and sporting activities.

The festival serves as a major occasion to commemorate and honor the Zen Master Dương Không Lộ. Key rituals include the opening ceremony, offerings to the Buddha and Saints, and the procession of the Holy Palanquin. The event also features the practice of Mother Goddess worship, a recognized national intangible cultural heritage.

Cultural highlights include a large-scale art program titled ‘Chùa Keo - Thần Quang linh tự’ involving nearly 300 artists, as well as a provincial-level lion and dragon dance competition. The festival will run from October 19 to October 24, showcasing the historical and architectural significance of the Chùa Keo complex, which houses several national treasures.
