Kepez hosts 2nd International Mediterranean Theater Awards

The 2nd International Mediterranean Theater Awards, organized by Kepez Municipality in collaboration with Tiyatro Gazetesi, concluded with a gala ceremony in Kepez. The event brought together theater artists from seven different countries and various Turkish provinces.

A total of 28 awards were presented across several categories, including acting, directing, stage design, and playwriting. For the first time, the organization included national and international theater organizations. Notable honors included the Turkic World Cultural Service Award, presented to Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov and TÜRKSOY officials Sultan Raev and Sayit Yusuf. Other recipients included Harold David of the Avignon Theater Festival for the International 'Yes to Art' Award and Hülya Aksular for the International Ballet Honor Award.

Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz emphasized the importance of culture and art in establishing a city's brand, stating that the municipality aims to make Kepez a strong cultural center where art is produced and shared.
