Kepez Municipal Council addresses 34 agenda items

The Kepez Municipal Council held its regular October meeting to address 34 agenda items, focusing on social projects, budget preparations, and local commemorations. Presided over by Mayor Mesut Kocagöz, the session included the appointment of new commission members and discussions regarding the municipality’s future performance programs.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to social municipalism, specifically projects for the elderly. Mayor Kocagöz highlighted the ‘Yaşlı Dost Kepez’ (Elderly Friendly Kepez) initiative and invited residents to the 2nd International Health and Wellbeing in Aging Festival, scheduled for October 2–4. Kocagöz emphasized the goal of ensuring elderly citizens can participate actively in social life.

Additionally, the council passed decisions to honor fallen soldiers by naming local parks after Şehit Piyade Uzman Onbaşı Ali Yılmaz and Şehit Piyade Uzman Çavuş Fırat Torunoğlu. The meeting also addressed administrative changes, including new appointments to the municipal council and the Zoning Commission.
