Keppel and StarHub confirm talks over potential M1 deal

Keppel and StarHub have confirmed they are engaged in discussions regarding a potential transaction involving M1, Singapore’s third-largest telecommunications operator. Both companies issued separate disclosures to the Singapore Stock Exchange on Wednesday acknowledging the talks.

Keppel, which holds a controlling interest in M1, stated that it is exploring consolidation opportunities deemed necessary for the Singaporean telecom sector. The company noted it is currently focused on improving M1’s performance to maximize its strategic value for any future industry consolidation.

StarHub also confirmed the ongoing discussions but emphasized that there is no certainty or assurance that a transaction will materialize. The company stated it will make further announcements in compliance with listing manual obligations should any material developments occur.
