Keppel unit receives Singapore licence for subsea cable network

Keppel Kruger Holdings (KKH), a subsidiary of Keppel’s connectivity division, has been granted a facilities-based operator (FBO) licence by the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore. This licence permits the unit to own, operate, and maintain telecommunications infrastructure in Singapore and provide services related to the Kruger Cable System.

The Kruger Cable System is an international subsea fibre-optic communication network designed to connect Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, and Oman. The system is expected to land on the western side of Singapore at Tuas.

Keppel intends to use its private infrastructure fund to mobilize third-party capital for the project. An investment decision regarding the cable system is expected by the end of 2026.
