Keraike Ice Rink to open in Karuizawa on October 30, 2026

The Keraike Ice Rink in the Karuizawa Hoshino Area is scheduled to open on October 30, 2026. Positioned as the earliest opening outdoor ice rink in Japan, the facility allows visitors to skate amidst the autumn foliage of the Karuizawa Bird Sanctuary.

As the season progresses into late December and early January, the rink will transition to using natural ice formed by the local climate. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the facility will offer free admission to residents of Nagano Prefecture on its opening days, October 30 and 31, 2026, with special discounted rates available through November 20.
