Kerala Blasters secured Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for 2026-27 season
The Kerala government has officially allotted the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium to Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC for their 2026-27 home matches. The stadium, owned by the Greater Cochin Development Authority, will be rented at a rate of Rs 3.5 lakh per match, with a required security deposit of Rs 25 lakh.
The allotment order was issued by the Local Self Government Department just prior to the club’s scheduled home opener against Mumbai City FC. In its decision, the government cited the club’s role in promoting football and developing sports infrastructure within the state.
Ahead of the upcoming match in Kochi, Mumbai City FC manager Manolo Marquez noted that his team faces significant challenges, including injury concerns for players Vikram and Wilmar Jordan Gil. Mumbai City FC is seeking its first win of the season following a recent draw against Punjab FC.
