Kerala CM announces deadline to clear 2.76 lakh pending files

Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan has announced a time-bound mission to clear a backlog of 2.76 lakh electronic and physical files in government offices by December 31. To monitor progress, the state government will develop a dashboard allowing officials to track the status of files with a single click.

Additionally, the Chief Minister announced that a new bill providing legal protection for senior citizens will be introduced during the assembly session starting October 12. The proposed legislation includes the creation of a dedicated department for the elderly and a government survey to assess their specific needs and circumstances. The initiative aims to involve local bodies and volunteers in the care of senior citizens.

Regarding the state's 100-day program, Satheesan reported that 568 out of 588 declared projects have been completed, with approximately 90 percent of the remaining projects currently underway.
