Kerala CM V D Satheesan outlines vision for state transformation

Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan has outlined a vision for the state’s transformation during the 18th K P Hormis Memorial Lecture in Kochi. Speaking on the theme ‘Reimagining Kerala’, Satheesan emphasized the need for comprehensive development across sectors including healthcare, education, tourism, sports, and women’s safety.

Satheesan noted that while Kerala possesses infrastructure and social amenities comparable to many Western nations, the state must utilize these resources more efficiently. He proposed evolving a distinctive development model that turns geographical and demographic challenges into growth opportunities, specifically focusing on youth employment and elderly care.

To promote the state, the Chief Minister announced the ‘Festival Kerala’ initiative. This program is intended to showcase Kerala’s heritage, culture, and talent across India and internationally, while serving as a platform to attract investment and tourism.

Addressing the timeline for his administration, Satheesan stated that after four months in office, the government aims to show tangible results within the next six months. He noted that discussions with various companies regarding investments are currently in various stages of progress.
