Kerala CM V.D. Satheesan defends Rahul Gandhi and Congress

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has defended the Indian National Congress and Rahul Gandhi, describing them as protectors of democracy and secularism. His remarks come in response to personal attacks made by BJP leader Rajiv Chandrasekhar against the opposition leader.

Satheesan criticized the BJP's rhetoric, questioning whether any party leader could honestly claim to defend secularism. He expressed concerns regarding the credibility of the Election Commission and the impartiality of autonomous institutions, suggesting that constitutional bodies are being sidelined to serve communal interests. He further stated that the struggle for fundamental rights and justice by the Congress party would not be weakened by such political pressure.
