Kerala Coast Rescues 17 Fishermen; Two Others Missing After Storm Capsizes Boat

Coastal police and local residents rescued 17 fishermen off the Kozhikode coast in Kerala after their vessel suffered an engine failure in the Arabian Sea. The crew was taken to Feroke CHC Hospital and none sustained serious injuries.

In a separate incident near Muthalapozhi, strong winds capsized a boat, leaving two fishermen missing. Rough seas and ongoing heavy rainfall have hampered search efforts, and authorities have issued red and orange weather alerts across nine districts of Kerala, urging residents to avoid coastal and hill‑area travel.
