Kerala Congress directs MLA Ramya Haridas to distance from controversial associate
The Kerala Congress has opted for a conciliatory approach to resolve internal factional disputes following a clash in Chirayinkeezhu involving MLA Ramya Haridas. Rather than taking disciplinary action against Haridas, party leadership has directed her to distance herself from her controversial associate, Palayam Pradeep, to prevent further discord within the regional unit.
Local leaders had filed complaints alleging that Pradeep’s presence led to excessive interference in party matters. Following an inquiry, the party suspended both Pradeep and S. Sajjad, a vice president of the Kuthallur mandalam, from primary membership for organizational indiscipline. While Haridas and Pradeep alleged they were physically assaulted during a meeting, the party aims to resolve the tension through dialogue.
Haridas has dismissed reports of a serious dispute, stating that the incident is something that could occur in any organization and can be settled through discussion. She has expressed intentions to visit Chirayinkeezhu to address the situation directly.
