Kerala Court Orders FIR Against Actor Tini Tom Over Abuse Allegations

The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate directed the Kadavanthra police station to register a first‑information report (FIR) after actress Ansiba Hassan filed a complaint alleging that actor Tini Tom used abusive terms, including “Jihadi,” against her. The magistrate dismissed the police report that described the remarks as a joke and noted that the report was incomplete.

Witness statements from AMMA executive Neena Kurup and president Swetha Menon were cited, confirming that Tom made derogatory comments at the AMMA office. The court identified possible offences under Sections 74, 75(iv), 79, 299 and 302 of the BNS Act and Section 119(a) of the Kerala Police Act, and ordered a detailed investigation under Section 173(5). Police must now register the FIR and forward the case for further inquiry.
