Kerala districts declare school holidays due to heavy rain

Educational institutions in three districts of Kerala—Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Pathanamthitta—have been granted a holiday due to ongoing heavy rainfall and waterlogging. The closures specifically target schools and institutions currently being utilized as relief camps for displaced individuals.

In Alappuzha, all educational institutions in the Kuttanad taluk will remain closed. In Pathanamthitta, the holiday applies to 10 schools in the Thiruvalla taluk and two anganwadis in the Kozhencherry taluk. In Kottayam, all institutions serving as relief centers are also affected.

District Collectors have clarified that pre-scheduled examinations will proceed as originally planned, and students are expected to follow their existing schedules.
