Kerala Government Opens AIIMS Site Selection to All Locations to Avoid Delays

Kerala Devaswom and Health Minister K. Muraleedharan said the state will not insist on a specific location for the proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala, submitting details of several possible sites, including survey numbers, to the Union Health Ministry. He emphasized an open stance to prevent regional disputes from stalling the project.

The minister also clarified that the state has not decided to transfer the Devaswom Recruitment Board’s powers to the Kerala Public Service Commission, and will not interfere with the board’s functioning until the current members’ tenure ends.
