Kerala IT sector expands infrastructure from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode

Kerala is undergoing a significant expansion of its IT sector, extending infrastructure from the southern capital of Thiruvananthapuram to the northern Malabar region. This growth is fueled by large private investments and new capacity additions at established hubs.

In Kozhikode, a Rs 600 crore tower is being constructed at Cyberpark. The Grade-A IT hub will span 2.5 acres with nine lakh sq ft of built-up space, intended for multinational companies, startups, and R&D centers. The project is expected to create over 10,000 direct jobs within two years. This is part of a broader private sector plan to develop 12 million sq ft of office space across the state.

Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan noted that the government aims to establish Kozhikode as a major IT destination alongside Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. By 2030, projects covering approximately 50 million sq ft are expected to be completed, potentially generating 200,000 jobs.

In the south, Technopark is expanding its Phase III campus by adding two lakh sq ft of IT office space. E-tenders have been invited for the design and construction of a prefabricated building, with a projected 15-month completion period.
