Kerala Lok Bhavan clarifies non-meat food restriction at Governor's residence

The Kerala Lok Bhavan has issued a clarification regarding reports of a ban on non-vegetarian food at the official residence of Governor Om Prakash Mathur. Officials stated that the restriction applies only to the specific kitchen responsible for preparing the Governor's meals, which is strictly vegetarian.

There is no restriction on the dietary choices of Lok Bhavan employees or other individuals; they remain free to bring and consume their preferred food. This clarification follows significant political controversy, with leaders from both the Congress and CPI-M accusing the Governor of attempting to impose a communal agenda and infringing upon personal freedoms and traditional dietary habits in Kerala.
