Kerala MLA Ramya Haridas hospitalized after clash with Congress workers

A physical altercation occurred between Chirayinkeezhu MLA Ramya Haridas and local Congress party workers in Thiruvananthapuram, leading to Haridas seeking medical treatment at Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Hospital.

The dispute reportedly stems from disagreements regarding the participation of Palayam Pradeep in an official meeting involving contractors and elected representatives. Haridas identified Pradeep as her personal assistant, while party members disputed this claim. Tensions escalated following social media posts questioning Pradeep's authority to attend the meeting.

Haridas alleged she was attacked and threatened by local leaders, including Sajith Muttappalam and Sajad. Conversely, party members claimed the MLA and her supporters initiated the confrontation at a residence following the social media dispute. Police have registered a case against seven Congress workers under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act based on Haridas' statement. A separate case is expected following a complaint from party leader Sajad.
