Kerala moviegoers criticize high cinema concession prices

Moviegoers in Kerala are expressing frustration over the high cost of concessions at cinema multiplexes. Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V V Rajesh criticized the pricing, noting that items such as popcorn, which might cost 25 rupees elsewhere, are sold for over 250 rupees in theaters.

Local residents have noted that the combined cost of tickets and refreshments has turned a traditional family outing into an expensive luxury. Some citizens report that a single outing for a family of five can cost between 3,000 and 4,000 rupees, making the experience increasingly inaccessible for many.
