Kerala Onam 2026 festival dates and traditions

The 10-day Onam festival in Kerala is scheduled to begin on August 16, 2026, with Atham, and will culminate in the main celebration, Thiruvonam, on August 26, 2026. The festival is rooted in the legend of the mythical King Mahabali, whose reign is remembered for prosperity and equality.
