Kerala authorities dismantle MDMA smuggling ring

Authorities in Kerala have dismantled a drug trafficking network involved in smuggling MDMA from Delhi. The Excise Department conducted two separate operations, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including an 18-year-old woman. Officials recovered approximately 279.3 grams of MDMA and three grams of hashish oil.

According to Joint Excise Commissioner S Vinod Kumar, the syndicate utilized a Mahindra Thar SUV to transport contraband, often using women as carriers to move drugs from Delhi to Kerala. In one instance, officers intercepted a vehicle at a traffic block in Vyttila, discovering 230 grams of MDMA hidden in a secret compartment under the steering wheel.

In a separate incident in Vadakara, a 29-year-old man was arrested after police discovered 9.40 grams of MDMA during an inspection of a rented jeep. The vehicle was being used by students to film videos for Onam celebrations; police stated the students were unaware of the driver's possession of the substance.
