Kerala police conduct MDMA smuggling operations and arrests
Authorities in Kerala, India, have conducted multiple operations targeting MDMA smuggling. In Kannur, police and the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) arrested a 33-year-old man, identified as A. Faisal, after discovering 20.5 grams of MDMA concealed inside a robot toy. The suspect claimed the drugs were sent to him via parcel from Bengaluru.
In a separate investigation in Kozhikode, the Kerala Excise Department has intensified its probe into the seizure of 3.3 kg of MDMA near the Pantheerankavu toll plaza. A Look Out Circular has been issued for a Nigerian national, Emmanuel Afam, who is currently absconding. Nine individuals have been arrested in connection with that specific case.
These actions are part of the Onam Special Enforcement Drive, a month-long operation running from August 1 to August 31, aimed at curbing the illegal sale of narcotics, liquor, and banned tobacco products across the state.
