Kerala police conduct major MDMA drug busts and arrests

Police in Kerala have conducted significant operations targeting MDMA drug networks, resulting in several high-profile arrests.

In the Vadakara MDMA case, investigators are interrogating Keerthana, a teacher suspected of luring other educators into the drug trade. Police are also investigating whether students were utilized as couriers. In a related development, Jijil Kuriakose was remanded in connection with a separate drug case after an audit revealed approximately ₹1 crore in bank transactions over the past year, suspected to be proceeds from illegal sales.

In Kannur, the Iritty police and the DANSAF team apprehended two individuals, Nisar and Shameem, following a vehicle pursuit. The suspects, both identified as having extensive criminal records involving assault and arson, attempted to evade a checkpoint in a Karnataka-registered car. Upon inspecting the vehicle with a crane, authorities discovered 95 grams of MDMA hidden in a specialized mechanical compartment under the car's underbody.
