Kerala railway upgrades: LHB coaches for two trains and third track approved

Congress MP Kodikunnel Suresh announced that two Kerala trains will be upgraded to modern Linke‑Hofmann‑Busch (LHB) coaches. The Palaruvi Express (Palakkad‑Tutigorn) will receive LHB coaches from July 20, and the Madurai‑Guruvayur Express will be upgraded from July 26, with an additional Third AC coach added to the Palaruvi Express.

Separately, MP N K Premachandran confirmed that the Railway Board has approved construction of a third railway track on the Kayamkulam‑Thiruvananthapuram section. Final location and alignment surveys are nearing completion, and a detailed project report will be prepared for execution, aiming to increase capacity on this key corridor in Kerala.
