Four students arrested after video of school assault in Kerala

On July 16, a 16‑year‑old student at an aided school in Valakom, Kerala, was allegedly restrained, verbally abused, punched and kicked by four classmates. One of the accused filmed the assault, and the video later spread on social media.

Police filed a case on July 27 at the Muvattupuzha police station, charging the four Class 10 students under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for wrongful restraint, intentional insult and assault. The school management announced disciplinary action against the involved pupils.
