Kerala to issue 75,000 new priority ration cards on Aug 3

The Kerala government will issue 73,024 new priority (pink) ration cards and 2,000 Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY, yellow) cards on August 3, bringing the total to more than 75,000. The distribution is part of the state’s 100‑day action plan and aims to ensure subsidised food grains reach eligible families while removing ineligible beneficiaries.

Chief Minister V D Satheesan will inaugurate the programme at Kanakakkunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram at 11 a.m., handing over cards to 20 selected beneficiaries. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob will preside over the event. The first‑phase beneficiaries were chosen from 6,900 families identified for AAY cards.
