Greece marks 13 years since Pavlos Fyssas murder with mass protests
Thousands of people gathered across Greece, including in Keratsini, Athens, Thessaloniki, and Patras, to mark the 13th anniversary of the murder of anti-fascist musician Pavlos Fyssas. Fyssas was killed on September 18, 2013, by a member of the Golden Dawn organization, which was later legally classified as a criminal organization.
In Keratsini, memorial events included a large concert at the docks and a march led by Fyssas's family, including his mother, Magda Fyssa. Protesters used the occasion to voice opposition to the recent release of Ilias Kasidiaris, a former Golden Dawn official, on September 15.
In Thessaloniki, approximately 4,000 people participated in an anti-fascist march. Similar demonstrations occurred in Patras with around 600-700 participants. The commemorations highlighted the ongoing struggle against fascism and the legacy of the judicial process that dismantled the Golden Dawn leadership.
