Kerem Aktürkoğlu hospitalized after head injury in Fenerbahçe match

Fenerbahçe player Kerem Aktürkoğlu was hospitalized following a head injury during a Super League match against Konyaspor. The 27-year-old forward collided with an opponent, losing consciousness briefly before being removed from the pitch on a stretcher.

Following medical evaluations, the club confirmed Aktürkoğlu suffered a concussion. He was discharged from the hospital after initial tests showed no negative findings, but he remains under observation. According to Football Director Oğuz Çetin, the player will follow the FIFA “Concussion Protocol,” which is expected to keep him sidelined for at least 10 days. Consequently, he is expected to miss upcoming matches against Lyon and Samsunspor.

Additionally, Fenerbahçe reported that Marco Asensio sustained a muscle strain in his upper left leg during the same match. Asensio is also expected to miss the upcoming matches against Lyon and Samsunspor, though the club aims to have him recovered in time for the Beşiktaş derby on September 6.
