Keretapi Sarong celebrations draw thousands across Malaysia

Thousands of participants gathered across Malaysia to celebrate Hari Malaysia through the Keretapi Sarong events in Melaka and Johor Bahru. These celebrations highlighted the nation's cultural diversity and heritage through the wearing of traditional attire and sarongs.

In Melaka, over 3,000 people from various ethnic backgrounds, including Malay, Chinese, Baba Nyonya, and Indian, gathered at the Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum. The event aimed to promote unity and showcase traditional clothing as a symbol of national identity.

In Johor Bahru, approximately 7,000 participants joined the Keretapi Sarong Johor Bahru 2026. The event, held in conjunction with Visit Johor Year 2026, featured a train journey from KTM Kulai Station through Kempas Baru to JB Sentral, followed by a parade through the city center to the Zero Kilometer landmark.
