Kermanshah factory explosion kills Chinese manager

A furnace explosion at the ‘Mottahed Sharq Asia Ferroalloy’ plant in the Islamabad-e Gharb industrial zone, Kermanshah, has resulted in the death of the factory's Chinese manager.

The incident occurred at night, causing severe burns to the manager, another Chinese national, and two Iranian workers. The manager was transferred to the Golestan Burn Hospital in Kermanshah for specialized treatment but succumbed to his injuries. The other three individuals received outpatient treatment at a local hospital and have since been discharged.

The facility is a joint investment project involving Chinese investors, designed to produce 15,000 tons of silicon-manganese ferroalloy annually to meet domestic demand and reduce import dependency. Local authorities stated that the cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
