Kermanshah officials aim to boost Iran-Iraq trade
Economic officials and private sector representatives met in Kermanshah to discuss strengthening trade relations between Iran and Iraq. Ehsan Bagherkhani, the Director General of Industry, Mine, and Trade for Kermanshah, emphasized the importance of maintaining the province's strategic position as a key trade hub with Iraq.
During the meeting, Yahya Al-Esghaq, head of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce, stated that reaching $20 billion in bilateral trade is a realistic goal rather than a mere slogan. He noted that this target is achievable if domestic issues are resolved and existing capacities are fully utilized. Al-Esghaq called for a change in approach and increased momentum to expand economic ties, highlighting the role of the joint chamber in addressing commercial obstacles.
