Kerry King teases upcoming second solo album

Slayer guitarist Kerry King has shared updates regarding his upcoming second solo album, describing it as a “slam dunk” and “crushing” extension of his 2024 debut, “From Hell I Rise”.

Speaking on the “100 Songs That Define Heavy Metal” podcast, King confirmed that producer Josh Wilbur will return for the new project. King noted that he has already begun writing lyrics and has shared material with vocalist Mark Osegueda. He expressed particular pride in the album's intro, calling it one of the best he has ever composed.

King's solo band, which includes members Phil Demmel, Kyle Sanders, and Paul Bostaph, is expected to enter the studio in April 2026. A new tour to support the release is slated to launch in early 2027.
