Kerstin Ott marks three years of sobriety from alcohol

German singer Kerstin Ott has marked three years of sobriety from alcohol, nicotine, and animal products. Ott revealed that she struggled with an alcohol problem, noting that she often drank to reward herself or to participate in celebrations.

She described the journey to abstinence as physically and mentally taxing. Despite a recent temptation where she purchased a bottle of vodka, Ott reported feeling no anticipation or pleasure, stating she intends to give the unopened bottle away to ensure no alcohol remains in her home.

Ott’s lifestyle changes were undertaken alongside her wife, Karolina Köppen. The couple has been together since 2017, following a period where both were navigating life after previous relationships.
