Kesha releases long-awaited ‘Backstabber’ music video

Singer Kesha has released the official music video for ‘Backstabber,’ a track from her 2010 second studio album, Animal. The video had been in limbo for nearly two decades, with fans previously only having access to unfinished, leaked versions online.

The song was inspired by a real-life incident in which a close friend stole Kesha’s car and spoke ill of her. In the music video, Kesha depicts a revenge narrative where she recovers her vehicle and confronts the individual responsible.

Following the release, the video has gained significant traction on social media platforms like TikTok, leading some fans to call for the singer to perform at the 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
