Kestel Municipality nears completion of historic bathhouse restoration

The restoration of the historic Vani Mehmet Efendi Şifa Hamamı in the Kestel district of Bursa is nearing completion. Managed by the Kestel Municipality, the project involves an investment of 8 million 160 thousand TL to preserve the structure's historical identity.

The restoration work includes renewing plaster and marble coverings in the entrance, hot, and cold sections to match the original architecture. Additionally, the heating system has been revised, and the worn lead-covered dome roofs have been replaced. Electrical and mechanical installations are also being finalized to ensure the building meets modern standards for future use.

Kestel Mayor Ferhat Erol emphasized the importance of protecting the district's historical memory, stating that the municipality is committed to preserving precious heritage for future generations while building the district's future through new investments.
