Kestel Municipality opens KAGEM women's development center
Kestel Municipality has launched the Women, Family, and Child Development Center (KAGEM) to support women's participation in social life and production. Located under the Esentepe Indoor Market Area, the center will serve as a social hub for the district.
The first educational term will offer free courses in areas such as wire embroidery, illumination (tezhip), handicrafts, fashion design-sewing, and fashion design-clothing. These courses are open to participants aged 14 and older, with applications accepted until October 10.
Kestel Mayor Ferhat Erol stated that the center aims to create a Kestel where women can learn, produce, and hold stronger positions in all areas of life. While starting with these initial courses, the municipality intends for KAGEM to expand into a broader center for women, family, and child-oriented activities and solidarity networks.
