Keta investment opportunities explored by Chinese delegation
A delegation from the Chinese firm Chongqing Zhanxian Group Ltd recently visited Keta, Ghana, to explore various investment opportunities within the municipality. The visit aimed to showcase the region's economic potential to foreign investors to stimulate job creation and local development.
Lom Nuku Ahlijah, a senior lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, highlighted several sectors ripe for investment, including agriculture, logistics, energy, transport, real estate, and salt production. The Chinese delegation expressed specific interest in acquiring approximately 30 acres of land for agricultural use, though discussions with traditional authorities and stakeholders are ongoing.
The delegation toured several key locations, such as the proposed Keta Port area, Abitiakope Pond, and the Anlo Afiadenyigba salt area. Ahlijah noted that investing in the processing of local crops, such as sugarcane and cassava, could add significant value to the economy and address high unemployment rates among the local youth.
