Keta Municipal Hospital to celebrate 100 years of service in 2026

Keta Municipal Hospital in Ghana’s Volta Region is preparing to celebrate 100 years of continuous healthcare service in October 2026. The Ghana Health Service facility will hold a series of centenary activities to commemorate its history and its role in serving the Keta Municipality and surrounding communities.

Commemorative events began in July and will continue through the anniversary climax in October 2026. Planned activities include a scientific lecture, an inter-hospital fun games event, medical screening exercises, and a community clean-up. The program aims to bring together healthcare professionals, stakeholders, and community members.

Beyond celebrating its history, the hospital intends to use the milestone to address current operational needs. Organizers noted that the centenary will highlight the necessity of retooling the facility with essential equipment, addressing staff welfare concerns, and improving the overall quality of healthcare delivery to the region.
