Ketapang Port logistics truck queues decrease to 7 kilometers

Traffic congestion involving logistics trucks heading to Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java, has begun to ease. After reaching a peak queue length of approximately 16 kilometers on Friday night, the line has been reduced to about 7 kilometers as of Saturday.

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has implemented several measures to manage the density, including optimizing vessel operations and coordinating with regulators. To increase transport capacity, 24 large-capacity ships are being operated, with six vessels utilizing a ‘arrive-unload-depart’ (TBB) pattern to accelerate loading and unloading processes at the docks.

The congestion follows a 16 percent increase in logistics vehicle volume compared to the same period last month. ASDP officials stated that these efforts aim to ensure the Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing remains functional while prioritizing passenger safety and comfort.
