Kettle Valley Steam Railway offers scenic autumn rides in B.C

The Kettle Valley Steam Railway (KVR) offers scenic autumn excursions through British Columbia’s Okanagan region. Passengers can ride a restored 1912 steam locomotive, known as ‘The Spirit of Summerland,’ which travels along a 16 km route through orchards and vineyards.

The railway, originally built between 1910 and 1915, played a vital role in expanding the province’s fruit industry. The current journey includes views of Okanagan Lake from the Trout Creek Bridge, situated 238 feet above the canyon floor. The 90-minute trips operate on Saturdays and Sundays, with vintage coaches available for wheelchair accessibility by prior booking.
